Untended structures tend toward disorder, weakness, rigidity, or decay. Aevitas uses the term analogically, not as a physics equation for human behavior.
The System
A structure for Action under real conditions.
Aevitas starts with a real human being, situated in a body, influenced by a history, affected by institutions, and still capable of deliberate participation or withdrawal. The system studies how the Action of participating or not can be protected, trained, and made answerable to standards.

Finite attention requires selective allocation of resources. Ending a commitment can be an act of Agency when it is chosen and responsibly released from one’s responsibilities.

A repeating sequence
One Moment. Five stages.
Conditions establish the field in which the Agent operates. The Interval is their space for discernment and selection of Actions. Selected Outputs bring the selection into reality. The outcomes of those Actions returns feedback. That feedback is then integrated into selection decisions for future Selected Outputs.

Praxis bring selected Action to fruition. Ethica supplies the standards through which conduct is measured. Bellator keeps the standards under resistance. Civitas examines how the Action impacts others and shared institutions. Mentis enhances the reading of conditions.
04 / Lineage
Inheritance with extension.
Aevitas works in conversation with virtue ethics, Stoic practices of self-governance, existential understanding of responsibility, and contemporary literature of embodied behavior. It retains the useful mechanisms and concepts, rejects guarantees that do not survive or apply inside of modern conditions, and treats every inheritance as open to examination.
